The Edo State House of Assembly has recalled its suspended former Deputy Speaker, Elizabeth Ativie (APC, Uhumwode).

Ativie was suspended last year following her refusal to return all official vehicles attached to the office of the deputy speaker after her impeachment alongside other principal officers of the house.

Her recall followed the recommendation of an ad hoc committee headed by the new Deputy Speaker, Victor Edoro (APC, Esan Central).

At the plenary yesterday, Edoror moved a motion for the house to dissolve into the committee of the whole to consider the report of the committee and he was seconded by Mr. Bright Osayande, (APC, Ovia North East).

Edoro explained that the former deputy speaker had appeared before his committee and thereafter returned the four vehicles in her possession. He said the vehicles were one Lexus jeep, one Prado jeep and two Hilux vans.
